The aims and objectives of the Society shall be:

• To promote scientific, technological andprofessional work in seeds;
• Maintain and encourage the highest proficiency and professional standards among the members to promote the best interest of the use of good quality seed and the seed industry;
• Encourage research, accumulate information and disseminate knowledge on seed technology;
• Provide facilities for association and conference on seed technologies;
• Work towards the fullest cooperation among all seed technologists including personnel working in seed testing, seed certification, seed law enforcement, seed research, seed production, seed distribution;
• Cooperate with Central and State Governments, agricultural universities, seedsmen associations and all other agencies interested in the furtherance of seed technology and the use of good quality seed.
