Instructions for All Applicants

Applicants are requested to carefully read all instructions, eligibility criteria, documentation requirements and submission process before applying for ISST Awards.

#		General Guidelines for All Applicants
1.	Submission of Applications at the Secretariat of ISST
	a.	Duly filled application shall be sent by Speed Post / Registered Post / Courier /on-line(pdf)/ in person so as to reach the Secretary, Indian Society of Seed Technology, F-5, A Block, NASC Complex, Dev Shastri Marg, Dasghara, New Delhi – 110012. The soft copy of the same in advance may be sent through email to the Secretary, ISST (isst1971@gmail.com).
	b.	Super scribe the envelope as, “Application for ISST __________ Award”.
	c.	All entries in the application should be duly type written as per the specified format for each Award.
	d.	Before sending the filled up application form, you are required to prepare a check list with tick mark (s) and enclose the same with the application.
	e.	Prepare a content page to be enclosed on the top of the application.
	f.	The pages in the application should be serially numbered and bound (spiral/comb binding preferred). No loose sheets will be entertained as there are chances of missing them.
	g.	The supporting evidences for claim(s) made need to enclose with application form as numbered Annexure(s).
2.	Eligibility: Only the members (as given in criteria) of ISST are eligible for Society Awards, except for Ch. Amir Singh Memorial Lifetime Achievement award. No member holding the EC office of ISST will be considered eligible to apply for any of the award of the Society. The applicants have to mention the membership year/nos. that will be matched with the records of Society.
3.	Registration Fee of National/International Event [Non-refundable] Organised/ Co-Organised by the Society : Nominee shall enclose a DD/ Multicity cheque of the stipulated amount drawn in favour of “_Name of the National Event __” payable at __Place of Event__ or the same may be electronically transferred to Saving Bank A/c No. __ As Communicated in brochure of the Event___ with an evidence attached along with application. NEFT will be preferred for speedy action. Bank details: As Communicated in brochure of the Event
4.	The following applications shall be deemed invalid and rejected
	a.	Application without signature
	b.	Application not as per the prescribed proforma/ format
	c.	Incomplete/ ineligible/ illegible application
	d.	Application received after the prescribed due date for any reason
	e.	Application without photograph.
	f.	Without the Registration Fee of National Seed seminar/congress/symposium.
5.	No TA/DA shall be paid by the Society to the awardees except for Best Ph.D. Thesis Award.
6.	Miscellaneous information
	a.	Computing the age: The number of completed years as on 31st December of the award year shall be considered.
	b.	Passport size photos: One photograph to be affixed on the application form in the space provided; another photograph/ copy need to be placed in a separate cover with the candidate’s name written on the back.
	c.	The Executive Council, ISST will get the applications screened by a committee constituted for such purpose. The members will themselves be neither the candidate for awards nor related to the nominees. Besides fulfilling the specific criteria laid for Scientist of Eminence and Young Scientist etc. awards of ISST, overall contributions in the field of Seed Science and Technology would also be considered in selections.
	d.	The Executive Council of ISST shall decide upon the final selection of all the awards based upon recommendations of screening committee or the applications received from the candidates.
	e.	The decision of the President, ISST shall be final and would not be challenged in any manner.
	f.	The awardees shall be given a certificate/citation/memento/plaque/cash prize, as decided by the EC of ISST.
	g.	The Society reserves the rights to change the criteria and/or cancel any or add new award(s).
	h.	The information furnished in the application(s) without evidence of accomplishments / achievements shall not be considered.
	i.	There is no need to apply for “ISST Best Research Paper Award” as the Society will nominate author(s) of the best paper published in ‘Seed Research’ during each year.
	j.	Canvassing in any form or creating influence for any undue advantage will be disqualification and the candidature is liable to be summarily rejected.
	m.	Any clarification in this regard may be sought from the ISST Secretariat.

Important Note

The decision of the President, ISST shall be final and binding. The Society reserves the right to modify criteria, introduce new awards or cancel existing awards at any time.
